Pao Tai hill is the original east Tatuen hill, which used to be the highest place in Taichung at the altitude of 89 meters. In 1895, when the Japan troop attacked Taiwan, they set three cannons on the hill to fight against Taiwan troop. Therefore, this place was named Pao Tai (with the meaning of cannons) Hill. Back to 3000 to 4000 years ago, people have been dwelled on this hill. |
