A great diversity of teaching approaches can let students discover different fields of study as well as explore their potentials. Therefore, with the guidance of Sisters of Yu Jen, connecting diverse and creative education with international culture can nurture the hopes of our country. I believe that through these good teaching approaches taken by Yu Jen, every teacher can make use of the teaching environment with abundant materials to utilize teachers' good abilities to dedicate themselves to enhance children's potentials. In addition, every child can study happily under the abundant teaching environment provided by the school. For a more perfect future, we will build a basis full of happy and confidence. |

In order to improve students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability in Mandarin, Yu Jen encourages students to write articles to Mandarin Daily News and also carries out Chihuahua Reading Plan. Moreover, the school will hold several competitions such as speech, reading, debate, writing, Taiwanese speech, Hakka speech, ancient poetry reciting, etc. to establish students’ language basis and competition experience. In English education, in order to increase students’ English ability, our school makes use of small class teaching, established Intensive English program, and invites English native speakers to teach. The basis of connection with the world roots in successful language teaching. The result of bilingual education develops a foundation of students’ ability to enter the international world. Yu Jen Elementary School embarks sister-relationship with schools from different continents. Moreover, Yu Jen faculty and students can visit those schools by communicating in English. Besides, every semester we always hold English singing competition. Every class will try their best to win. We can hear students of each class singing songs chosen by them in every school corner, including pop music, old love songs, or nursery rhymes. They will sing with stage properties fitting in with their theme and will wear costumes to attract audience's attentions and judges’ favors. The purpose of English singing competition is to integrate language with arts and humanity to increase children’s interest in English learning. |

The event is in order to increase students’ interest in reading and to make use of Math and Nature Science books in our library. In addition, the event can lead students to look for a wider knowledge of life. By means of exciting and interesting Q & A competition, students can apply wisdom from reading, arouse creative thinking, and develop the attitude of exploring science actively. In addition, the secret of nature science is continuous exploring and a variety of experiments. In Yu Jen, every semester Nature Science teachers always design creative scientific competitions which are enlightening and can combine with children folklore games in order to let students to experience fun in life—it is said, “Learning by doing, understanding by learning.” The event can increase students' scientific potentials and develop creativities in science to become creative people who like to think, create and is willing to create. |

Because of the advent of Internet, Yu Jen emphasizes on students’ ability of information technology and plans courses to let everyone who graduates from Yu Jen owns the basic computer skills and will be familiar with common-used tools and software. In addition, students can apply those skills into daily use and gain more information around the world by means of utilizing computer tools. Yu Jen adopts small class teaching approach and through those courses, students can learn computer graphics and website design and the courses ask students to make graduation DVD by themselves. Moreover, in order to comply with the trend of computer accessories, our school uses LCD screens in our computer lab to let students enjoy the most perfect learning environment. |

Because our school wants to develop every student to be a polite gentleman or a lady, we utilize musical instrument training to develop students to appreciate music. Moreover, students can develop one talent, cultivate deposition, and increase confidence. During taking courses, teachers will train students to be brave to perform on the stage in order to interpret songs perfectly and to show their most perfect aspect. The purpose of these courses is to give a chance to every student to be a little musician. Yu Jen always tries its best to emphasize aesthetic education in order to develop student's deposition of arts and humanity. During Art courses, teachers will lead students to immerse in the world's famous paintings such as painting of Van Gogh, Picasso, Raphael, Da Vinci, Chagall, etc, in order to let students express their thoughts of those paintings, draw paintings with their own style, and discover their unlimited talent in arts. |

The purpose that Yu Jen promotes many sporting events actively is that the school wants to train students to do exercises helpful to their health and build up the habit of strengthening body ability and correct life perspective. During the class, teachers explain and analyze poses and make sure if students’ pose is correct in order to achieve a really efficient exercise. In addition, good physical strength is the root of children's health, so make more exercises can make students more intelligent and have good learning effects. |

Every year Yu Jen holds events to let young teachers to handle the concept and skill of teaching and class management, including passing on experience to new teachers, teaching evaluation of each field, writing teaching, conversation of teachers and students research, and training experience sharing. Moreover, in the beginning and at the end of every semester, our school holds class meeting. Through proficient teachers share experience and discuss with each class, teachers can understand course content through different teaching approaches in different fields and exchange their teaching skills to accumulate teaching strategies and class management skills. Moreover, Yu Jen establishes research teacher system which is in charge of editing teaching materials and on the basis of course levels, they will adjust the content. In our school, observation in class takes the place of teaching evaluation to let teachers discuss with each other to get improvement and create a new teaching milestone. |
