Education is a process which a man becomes a human—namely, a man can become a civilized man through education. In addition, a good environment is necessary for a successful education. Yu Jen Elementary School keeps reforming and innovating, such as English education, life education, classroom library, and personality education, etc. The purpose is to provide a good learning environment and offer every class with good hardware equipments. Teachers can make use of these equipments to provide students more information.

　　During these years, Yu Jen not only develops English education and computer education actively but emphasizes the nurture of ethics. By means of life discovery, concerning activity, and growing up camp, students can realize the value of life. Our school especially strengthens teaching materials of life education in order to develop students’ good personality and build up the sense of respecting life gradually.

　　‘Life education’ refers to continuing education and keeping on the same track with life. In the beginning, we need to help students to discover and realize the meaning of life and let them know how to treasure themselves. Moreover, we will teach them to regard themselves as the center of a circle and based on the center to draw concentric circles with empathy to accept others, respect others, and love the whole group.Through 40 years, Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School has included life education into learning units and with the nurture of Catholics great love, our principal, teachers, and students are connected to be a big concentric circle. Our principal nurtures students to be mature in moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and sacred aspects with warm and soft heart and expects us to be useful people.

　　In addition, every year Principal Shih always teaches life education in sixth grade classes in order to help those students to prepare for attending junior high school and let them know that they have grown up. Their responsibility is bigger and they need to study harder to get into the next learning stage.

　　Ethics education is one of the characteristics of Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School. On every Monday, the head of Guard teachers and every class teacher start Intuitive Knowledge education by leading students to call to intuitive knowledge. Through the activity, students have to make a self-examination about what happened recently by telling Intuitive Knowledge their happy things, difficulties, and worries and they listen to what Intuitive Knowledge says. This activity makes students to introspect and improve shortcomings, nurtures students’ gentle minds, and makes students to expect improvement in the following week. After the activity, students can gather up their minds on the first day after weekends. The learning effect will be better.

　　Experiencing trip is an after-school learning trip held by our school for many years. In order to develop fifth grade students’ attitude for cooperation learning and increase the experience of after-school life education, our school and Student Counseling Center of Stella Matutina Girls’ High School co-host ‘Experiencing trip’ which is half-day learning experience. Students’ reaction is very ardent and can't stop. They think that half-day experience can let them learn a lot of knowledge which cannot be found in the books and during cooperation learning, they can experience that teamwork needs a tacit agreement and communication. Through the trip, leadership will be inspired properly as well.
