Special Events

　　Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School follows the spirit of Church, so we teach our students ethics of “Respect God sincerely, Love others as self” and “Forgiveness and Service” and foster the noble thoughts that is “When looking up, one has no occasion for shame before heaven, and below, one has no occasion to blush before men.” Our teaching always foster students to have the thought of serving others as people said “Be a man always for others.”

　　According to the vocal thought of virtue of Yu Jen Elementary School, senior classes will take turns to have performances in terms of short play, speech, oral reading, Chinese comic dialogue, and radio drama to impress the themes of honesty, responsibility, happiness, persistence, cooperation, and respect on students’ heart. Students all like role-play performance very much and this is an efficient way to foster perfect personalities. Playground, patio, classroom, auditorium, and indoor playground are our theaters. Our performances are watched through telecast live or watching live to have influence on students gradually.

Volunteer work

　　In the beginning of each semester, our school always selects volunteers from third to fifth grade students and assigns them to serve as volunteers for freshmen, Class Love, and each office. Their passions are confirmed by teachers and other students. They show their smiles with confidence and like angels.

　　Energetic traffic guides are chosen from fifth and sixth grade students with great passion. They will remind other students to pay attention to their dressing and looks, walk quietly instead of running, and to be good examples of other students.

　　Environmental volunteers walk around the school to propagate the thought of “Don't litter and our campus will be more beautiful.” Everyone knows that Yu Jen Elementary School is a beautiful school. Moreover, our students’ responsible behaviors in the aspect of recycling and energy saving are praised by Taiwan Environmental Protection Union.

Community Service

　　“Embrace earth's fragrance, plant trees in our community” is the beginning of fostering students to protect the ecology of the earth. Yu Jen Elementary School is located close to a 60-feet green parkway which is always abundant. Our school is not only the area of students’ ecological garden but also the leisure area for residents’ morning exercising and talking after having meals. In order to take care of our neighbors and foster students’ sentiment of loving their town and develop the appropriate attitude of entering our society and community, Yu Jen students make use of integrated courses to make up a schedule for community service which is to clean trash on the green parkway regularly and provide the service of cleaning away fallen leaves and branches. The community service is to train students to have the concept of team work and store up the passion of serving our society.
