  The goal of Yu Jen Elementary School is to foster students to have the international view—Regard Taiwan as the root, and take a broad view of the world. Therefore, our school develops second language acquisition teaching and starts to embark sister-school relationship with others schools since our school has founded. Yu Jen Elementary School has embarked sister-relationship with several schools in Asia, United States, and Oceania and we plan to reach the goal to have one school of each continent to be our sister-relationship schools.

  In June 1975, we signed a contract to embark sister-school relationship with Bou-Wen Catholic Elementary School in Inchon city, Korea and then we started to visit each other in order to exchange our culture. In August, 1977, Chinese Orchestra and Chorus of our school were invited to visit Korea and Japan. In December, 1980, Bou-Wen Catholic Elementary School followed their principal Li, Chung-Hou to visit Yu Jen Elementary School and had six-day cultural trip.

  In November, 2002, Yu Jen Elementary School embarked sister-school relationship with Clover Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles. After we became sister-relationship schools, our students mail to each other to have a deeper understanding of each other's culture and improve communication with each other. After we became sister-relationship schools, Yu Jen Elementary School sent computers and traditional Chinese painting to the sister-relationship school and they sent us thousands of English books to our students.

  On April 16th, 2004, Alan S. McIntyre, the principal of Owairoa Primary School, came to visit our school. On December 17th, 2004, Owairoa Primary School in New Zealand and our school became sister-relationship schools in our auditorium and then we started to exchange our students for visit—namely, our students went to New Zealand to visit the school and lived in home stay family in order to have a deeper understanding of culture and customs of New Zealand.

  Since Yu Jen Elementary School was founded, the school keeps doing cultural exchange with educational groups from different countries. There are several countries which came to visit Yu Jen Elementary School, including sister-relationship schools from Korea, America, New Zealand, and schools came from Vancouver Canada, Belgium, Philippine, Slovakia, and also visiting groups from Beijing, Wuhan, and Chekiang which are located in China. Those guests engaging in education came from distant countries praised our attitudes toward education and our achievement in education and also asked Principal Shih, Li-Lan the secret method—how to engage a school successfully.
