In July 1967, the school was authorized by the Legislature as ‘Private Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School,’ and established the subsidiary kindergarten. Father Thomas Sung, Chih Ching was appointed to be the principal of Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School. The school started to enroll new students: two classes for elementary program and five classes for kindergarten program consisting of the top and the middle classes.

In July 1969, principal Father Thomas Sung, Chih Ching was designated to go abroad. He quitted and Sister Dorores Chang, Li Feng was appointed to be the principal by the board.

In 1971, Yu Jen was authorized to establish one class for students with mental retardation who need to teach in terms of special education.

In July 1973, 126 graduates graduated from the 1^st commencement and they entered either public junior high school or private junior high school.

In July 1973, Principal Sister Dorores Chang, Li Feng was designated to be in charge of other affairs. The board of trustees appointed Sister Shih, Li Lan to be the principal.

In June 1975, Embarking sister-school relationship with Bou Wen Elementary School in Inchon city, Korea. In December, three operation supervisors from Bou Wen Elementary School visited our school.

In 1977, Yu Jen set up moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and sacred education as school principle to design school emblem.

In August 1980, Principal Sister Shih, Li Lan was designated to be in charge of other affairs, the board of trustees appointed Sister Zheng, Mei Zhi to be the principal.

In 1983, the school was renamed‘Private Yu Jen Catholic National Elementary School’by adding Guo-Min‘national’because the amendment of the national education law.

In 1986, because our Chinese Orchestra, Rhythmic Music, and the Chorus won the national champions in competitions, we were praised and named San-Gan-Wang‘Three Champions.’

In February 1991, we established computer education.

In February 1994, Principal Sister Zheng, Mei Zhi quitted and left for US to pursue further education. Sister Shih, Li Lan was appointed to be the principal.

In June 1994, graduates started to host commencements.

In February 1996, the school started to promote intuitive education.

In August 1997, the school established preschool special education classes.

On July 13^th , 1998, the first stage of construction of the new school building started. The board chairman Father Cao, Li Shan held the ground-breaking ceremony.

In 2000, classes from first grade to sixth grade started to take computer classes since September.

On June 3^rd , 2000, the inauguration ceremony of the new school building. Bishop Joseph Wang Yu Jung held the consecration to inaugurate the new building.

In July 2001, Love class established living classroom.

On November 5^th , 2001, Lin, Zheng Yo was appointed to be the vice-principal.

On January 10^th, 2002,Yu Jen Little Volunteer Team was establised.

On June 15^th , 2002, Yu Jen Little Volunteer Group established.

In September 2002, the school started ESL program.。

In November 2002, embarking sister-school relationship with Clover Avenue Elementary School in LA.

On February 12^th , 2003, the school started the International Morning English Broadcast Education.

On October 29^th , 2003, Taichung City Mayor Jason C. Hu sent a thousand and five hundred peach buns to praise for our website Taichung Park winning a gold award in International Schools CyberFair to celebrate gaining the glory for Taichung City.

In July 2004, the second stage of construction of the new school building prepared to build.

On December 17^th , 2004, embarking sister-school relationship with Owairoa Elementary School in New Zealand.

On December 18^th , 2004, holding an inauguration ceremony of the second stage of construction of the new building.

In October 2005, winning the champion of Elementary Department in Taichung City Mandarin Contest.

On December 7^th , 2005, one thousand and five hundreds students and teachers accomplished a great activity—that is, they had a trip by train in order to experience the railway culture. The purpose of the extracurricular activity was the great moment to celebrate one-hundred-year old Taichung Railroad Station.

On October 5^th , 2006, the first broadcast of Yu Jen TV Station .

On November 27^th , 2006, Principal Shih claimed ‘Let Children Come to Me, Love in Yu Jen. Under God's nurture, telling a history of building Yu Jen Elementary School by the cooperation of native and foreign churches.’ in Catholic Church and Taiwan Education International Conference held by Providence University.

On August 16^th , 2007, the school won a Platinum award in International Schools Cyber air and President Chen awarded the prize in presidential palace.

On December 24^th , 2007, Yu Jen Catholic Elementary School 40^th Anniversary.
