Yu Jen twelve Scenes questionnaire survey and Yu Jen twelve Scenes propagation by power point
|
|
Yu Jen is a beautiful school where there are many beautiful scenes, but we always pass them in a hurry and never appreciate them. Therefore, we decided to visit our campus in order to let all students of Yu Jen know the most special twelve scenes.
|
Make a proposal:

For the activity, we have to make a proposal first which will include activity strategy, activity benefit, activity procedure, etc.

Activity Procedure:
|

|
We have to do a lot of things, including considering investigation and propagation time and also considering what time teachers are available. There are too many things to take into account, so we found that the work is difficult.
|
|
Design Questionnaire:
|
|
We needed to design a simple questionnaire, but because this was our first time design a questionnaire, we had a lot of questions. For example, how many questions we need to design, what content we need to include in the questionnaire, etc. After discussing, the conclusion was that we had 14 questions. Don¡¦t worry, answering 14 questions will not cost much time. What we want to know from the questions are:

Make Power Point for Propagation
|
|
Lin, Shuang-Chu and Wang, Chia-Yu made a power point to introduce twelve scenes of Yu Jen and also include pictures. The power point can not only help the speaker to represent fluently but also let students and teachers understand.
|
Practice Introducing and Propagating Power Point:
|
|
Because the time is limited, we needed to practice to introduce the origin and the history of each scene briefly and clearly in a short time in order to achieve effect of propagation.
Teachers let us take turns to practice to represent in front of our team in computer classroom and recorded the time we used.
|
Estimate the time of investigation and propagation
|
|
After we counted the time, we found that it cost less time to complete questions, but because the people of each class are too much and it will take too much time to count people for each questions, we decided to add one person to count people. After we counted the time, it took around 20 minutes to complete the questionnaire survey in each class.
|
Divide into Groups and decide the schedule of conducting questionnaire survey
|
|
We divided team members into groups based on each person's class schedule. We believed that if we work together, we can complete the assignment.
Because we do not want to spend class time to conduct the survey and each member needs to adjust her/his schedule to meet each teacher's schedule, we decided to make use of morning study and lunch break.
|
Learn to make an appointment with teachers
|
|
We practice to make an appointment with teachers of every class with computer teachers to avoid what to tell the teachers because of nervousness.
Mr. X (Miss X), we are the team members of the team joining Cyberfair this year , we want to make an appointment with you in order to conduct a survey which is about scenes of Yu Jen. Can we borrow 20 to 25 minutes tomorrow or during the morning study the day after tomorrow?

Make an appointment with teachers
|
|
After continuous practicing and adjusting, the procedure of everyone's making an appointment with each teacher went well. However, it was really hard to set up a schedule to meet everyone's schedule, so we tried our best to meet each teacher's schedule.
|
Start to conduct questionnaire survey:
|
|
We conducted the survey from graduates last year. Some were too nervous and had no confidence but some presented very good. After we had presentations many times, everyone improved a lot. Experience is really important.
|
Visit the campus:
|
|
There are 31 classes waiting for us to introduce every beautiful scene. We have to try our best. Let's start to do it!
|
Evaluation and discussion:
|
|
Because everyone was too nervous, we showed many flaws such as speaking rate is too fast, what we said made no sense, we said wrong information, power point did not work, some did not have eye contact with audiences and only stared at a window, so it is hard to take good activity pictures. We need to improve these flaws.
|
Data arrange and make statistics
|
|
We arranged the data we collected and then analyzed by making use of Excel which is easier to make figures and charts. Meanwhile, we can also learn how to make use of new functions.

Ranking of the favorite scene:

After conducting the survey, we found that we only chose two students from each class randomly to answer the question ¡§The favorite scene of the campus,¡¨ so the result of the statistics is not objective. Therefore, we re-conducted a survey on the question and then went to each class to ask, ¡§What is your favorite scene in the campus? Each person can only choose one.¡¨ Through the result of the survey, we know that the champion of the favorite scene is ¡§Skywalk & Fatima Church,¡¨ the second is ¡§Jesus Garden,¡¨ and the third is ¡§Jesus Mural.¡¨ We found that each scene has its supporters, so the votes of each one are close. Questionnaire Survey Conclusion:

Scene and name of scene cannot match
|
|
After conducting the questionnaire survey on twelve scenes of Yu Jen, there are 72% students do not know ¡§Our Origin¡¨, so it is in the first place which students do not know. Moreover, ¡§Millennium Landmarks¡¨ is the second place with 63% students who do not know. We found that most of students know the famous scenes of Yu Jen, but do not know their name such as we all walk through Jesus Garden every day, but do not know it calls ¡§Jesus Garden¡¨ which is the third place with 60% students who do not know. Moreover, most of students do not realize the real meaning of each scene. Therefore, it is important to make power point to propagate the scenes. The power point let not only students know the correct names of the scenes but also understand the real meaning of each scene.

Foster Propagation Volunteers, Emphasize Propagation, and Be Campus Tour Guides of Freshmen
|
|
Our school started to emphasize the propagation of the beautiful scenes and their meanings in order to let everyone experience the beauty of Yu Jen. ¡§The Nurturing Team¡¨ started to be volunteers and our mission is to let each student and teacher know the 12 scenes of Yu Jen.
Furthermore, we recommend our school to assign propagation volunteers to give freshmen a campus tour in their first day of attending our school. Therefore, those freshmen will feel familiar with the big family and campus soon.
